Alma Van Win
Welcome
Welcome to my website, a glimpse into my world and my creations. I like to paint people from a feminine instinct-recognizable, raw, and sincere. Beauty can rub shoulders with contradictions: doubt, urge, vulnerability, and the hunger for connection.
I hope my work touches you, makes you think, or simply adds a warm, joyful enrichment to your day.

Biography
From an early age, as soon as I could escape the hustle and bustle of our large family, I loved to draw and paint.
At the age of 18, I ended up in Brussels, where I studied interior design. Designing, drawing, working with color, and art history were an important part of the program.
After my studies, I worked in the most beautiful designer furniture store in Mechelen: Nova.
Meanwhile, I took several courses at the Mechelen Art Academy: painting, drawing from live models, and sculpting.
I then became a lecturer in interior design at the Coloma Institute in Mechelen (now Thomas More University College), where I passed on my spatial insight and knowledge of presentation techniques to my students, from perspective drawing to watercolor techniques and furniture design.
After 16 years of experience, I started my own design agency: “Palladio – Interior Design.” I designed and supervised renovations and interior design projects down to the smallest details – from lighting to furniture and carpet design. This allowed me to continue creating beautiful things.
From 2010 onwards, I finally had the time and space to create free and creative work, and I started the series “Strong Women” in oil on canvas in large format: 120 x 120 cm.
My inspiration:
People, their behavior, their emotions, and in particular women’s perception of the world.
Techniques:
Oil paint and acrylic on canvas, watercolor, pastel, ink, pencil on paper.
In 2022, I also started working with ceramic sculptures again.
